On May 16th many people gathered on the waters of Elliott Bay in Seattle to express their disagreement with port of seattle desicion to host Shell’s oil rig on its way to Arctic for the exploratory drilling.
We were in our skin-on-frame kayaks, talking to people and filming some interesting points of view.
Drawing with dry pastels is one of the most immediate art process. Soft sticks leave bright and textured marks, easily smudged by little fingers.
Many years ago my daughter and I saved this doll from the shelves of value village.
It proved to be a good subject for three and four year old kids to portray.
To witness the uniqueness of children’s vision is my biggest joy in teaching art.
Nature is the best teacher.
Put real pumpkin in front of three and four year olds, give them water soluble oil pastels and heavy watercolor paper and see the magic of observation in action!
Kids had a larger pumpkin with a stem to draw and paint from.
Working with kids helps me to keep artistic vision, fresh and unclouded by “rules”.
